WE ARE sorry to learn of the death on June 26 of AMP member MICHAEL MURRAY. He was 79. Universally known as “Mick”, he held positions at Mirror Group in finance, and later worked in labour relations alongside Arthur Saxby. He was also a leading light in the MGN managers’ chapel.
His sons John, Scott and Steven led family tributes at Mick’s humanist ceremony. His wife Rita said: “After Mick retired, we enjoyed doing things together such as going to watch the Arsenal, and we had some lovely holidays, sometimes just the two of us, but also with the family, including the grandchildren. He adored them, and they adored him.”
Mick and Rita celebrated 55 years of married life last June and he passed away just three weeks after that amazing milestone. Rita said: “I miss him every day, so much, as do the family.”
