LESLEY HARDIE, a feature writer on the Daily Record, died in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow on July 20 [2020]. She had a successful career on the Courier in Dundee before joining the Record, where she achieved equal success.
AMP Committee member Malcolm Speed said: “Condolences to Lesley’s friends in the UK, Canada and Gambia. She was at the Record when the paper dominated the Scottish market. Lesley was a popular member of a formidable features team which included Tom Brown [AMP’s life vice-president]. She was friends with many of Scotland’s TV stars and had a distinctive interviewing style.”
A line from Lesley’s death notice read: “Farewell to the Dancing Queen.”
