Former Mirror executive Len Woodliff has died at his home in Farnham, Surrey, aged 88.
He held senior positions over 30 years on the paper and was News Editor, Northern Editor and, finally, Editorial Manager. He retired in 1982. Previously he had worked on the Daily Express.
He had distinguished World War 2 service with the 17th/21st Lancers and was decorated with the Military Cross.
His wife Lucy died in 1994 and he is survived by his daughter Margaret.
