Former Daily Mirror reporter JOAN SMITH died in hospital in Birmingham just before Christmas. The funeral – just a short graveside ceremony – will be at 12.45pm on Monday, February 12 at the Robin Hood Cemetery and Crematorium, Streetsbrook Road, Shirley, Solihull

Former colleague David Tattersall said: “In her days days as a Mirror reporter in London, Joan was an extremely feisty, colourful and confident character.”
