Jim Adams died on 20th December 2008 aged 88 years. Jim worked for some 20 years at the Mirror in the Building Maintenance Department looking after the heating and ventilation plant. He left the Mirror in 1986.
Jim started at Stanford Street and was involved in the move to the new Mirror building in Holborn Circus. During his retirement Jim’s mobility deteriorated and in early October 2008 he had a two-month spell in hospital where bowl cancer was diagnosed. Jim returned to hospital briefly in December 2008 but died peacefully soon afterwards.
Jim’s funeral will be on 13th January at Eltham Crematorium (adjacent to Falconwood station). The service will be from 10.45am at the West Chapel. Any friends and colleagues from the Mirror days will be welcome.
Jim’s son, Robin Adams, supplied the above information.
