Pensioners hold an Easter bonnet parade, Teesside, 1973. I KNOW Easter has come and gone, but I had to share this fabulous photograph with you. I came across it while researching something unconnected on marvellous Mirrorpix, and couldn’t resist it. Aren’t they wonderful? That’s the bonnets and the ladies! It’s a shame it’s a black and white pic, but it is from 1973. That seems quite recent to my mind, but the clothes are definitely from Ye Olde Days. My favourite is the lady in the front, far right. Not only has she got a lovely impish smile, but her hat is a work of art, complete with a nest of chicks on the top. I take my hat off to the lot of them! Ed.
