Rona Mackay MSP

Posted: March 13th, 2017

Former Daily Record sub-editor, RONA MACKAY MSP, is our patron in the Scottish Parliament.
Rona was a journalist in national newspapers for more than 20 years, before leaving the features department of the Record to become Parliamentary Assistant to a local MSP for nine years. In May, she was elected Scottish Nationalist Party MSP for Strathkelvin and Bearsden with a whopping 8,100 majority.
Rona, who was active in the NUJ, said: “I am honoured to be asked to be patron by my former colleagues. I am a deferred pensioner and I know what a sterling job the AMP has done in protecting our Mirror Group pensions for years.”
